Additional Study Information: The Neurocognition of Language Laboratory is seeking children from 6 12 years of age to participate in a brain study of visual-sensory processing. We will use a technique called electroencephalography (EEG) to measure the brains electrical activity by placing small electrodes that rest on the scalp. EEG is pain-free, safe, and non- invasive. We are looking for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who do not take psychiatric medications and neurotypical children without psychiatric diagnoses. The purpose of this study is to determine if some children with autism have a neurochemical imbalance between different types of brain transmitters.
