Additional Study Information:

Do you ever wish there was more information on how to handle the challenges of pregnancy and having a new baby? This study looks into whether certain behavioral techniques used by mothers can help their babies sleep more and cry less and, in turn, improve women's moods and child outcomes. The study starts when you are in your third trimester of pregnancy and lasts until your baby is about 4 months old. After you come in for an in-person screen to determine that you are fully eligible for the study, you will come in for 4 in-person visits to our lab; 1) at 28-32 weeks of pregnancy, 2) at 34-39 weeks of pregnancy, 3) when your baby is 4-6 weeks old, and 4) when your baby is 4 months old. Activities in these visits include answering questionnaires about your mood and various stressors in your life and performing a few simple tasks with your baby (e.g. playing, feeding, diapering). Participants can earn a total of $590 in our study. We also reimburse participants for their transportation costs to and from each session.
