Additional Study Information: The purpose of this study is to use Positron Emission Tomography (PET) to identify changes in brain chemistry that may cause an episode of depression. This study will be carried out in approximately 30 subjects. PET is a technique that provides "pictures" of chemical connections in the brain by injecting and monitoring a radioactive substance. In order to see the structure of the brain, a scan that involves magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) will be done. You have been asked to be in this study because you have one or more first-degree relatives with a history of Major Depressive Disorder.
