Dr. Patel is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia University. Dr. Patel completed her Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship training at the University of Chicago. She is the Associate Director of Columbia University-New York Presbyterian Hospital’s Interstitial Lung Disease Program, and leads a multidisciplinary conference focused on the development of diagnostic and treatment plans for patients with interstitial lung disease. She is a principal or sub-investigator on a number of clinical trials exploring the efficacy of novel therapies in IPF, and has investigated the development of pulmonary hypertension in IPF. Dr. Patel is also a founding member of the Columbia Pulmonary Associates, a pulmonary practice group at Columbia University. Her clinical interests include interstitial lung disease, occupational lung disease, general pulmonary medicine and medical critical care.
