Dr. Blanchard is a board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physician and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (in Emergency Medicine) at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She has over 9 years of experience caring for acutely injured and critically ill children.

Dr. Blanchard's primary academic interest is the study of pediatric patients at high risk for injury and the implementation of targeted interventions. Her specific research focuses on suicide prevention (through decreasing access to lethal means) and exploring unique injury patterns among people with autism. She has completed a Master's in Science and Patient-Oriented Research through the Mailman School of Public Health and works closely with the Columbia Center for Injury Science and Prevention, serving as faculty on the Scientific Union for Reduction of Gun Violence (SURGE).

Dr. Blanchard is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics and fellowship training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at NY Presbyterian-Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. She currently practices in the Pediatric Emergency Department at the NY Presbyterian-Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital.
