Adi Cohen, MD, MHS is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and is Director of the Early-Onset Osteoporosis Center within the Metabolic Bone Diseases Program in the Division of Endocrinology. Dr. Cohen received her medical training at New York University School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in Endocrinology at Columbia University Medical Center, as well as a fellowship in Women’s Health at Duke University and the Durham VA Medical Center. She has obtained a Master’s Degree in Health Sciences (Clinical Research) through the Duke Clinical Research Institute.

Dr. Cohen has conducted multiple studies to investigate pathogenesis of early-onset osteoporosis and treatment options for affected patients. Her current research focuses on osteoporosis in premenopausal women, pregnancy and lactation associated osteoporosis, relationships between body composition and bone metabolism, and the use of imaging tools for the noninvasive assessment of bone microstructure.

Dr. Cohen’s clinical practice, within the Metabolic Bone Diseases Program and the Early-Onset Osteoporosis Center in the Division of Endocrinology at CUIMC, builds upon knowledge acquired through ongoing research to provide individualized comprehensive clinical evaluation and personalized treatment plans for patients with osteoporosis.
