A major barrier to the early detection of eye diseases such as glaucoma is the difficulty in distinguishing abnormal changes from the wide variation in the normal appearance of the nerve tissue between individuals. We hope to better understand such normal variations especially in healthy individuals over the age of 55, where age-related eye conditions often occur. Participation in this study involves a 30-45 minute appointment where comprehensive state-of-the-art eye imaging will be performed, with such imaging being simple and non-invasive (typically lasting several seconds for each scan). Participants will have the opportunity to be involved in cutting-edge research that will contribute substantially to the efforts in preventing vision loss locally and worldwide.
