This is a Tissue Repository to collect and store tissue samples from normal donors and patients with hematological disorders for future study research studies. The purpose of the storage bank is to obtain a large number of the bone marrow aspirates, bone marrow biopsies, and/or blood as well as buccal smears (to be used as a non-hematologic control for each patient) from patients with hematological disorders for storage and future use. These samples will be placed in a storage bank and used only for appropriate future research studies. All accompanying clinical data on the patients and samples is stored in a limited access coded database. This database also contains the exact location of each sample within the storage freezers. It has become a great resource to have these banked samples in order to investigate new insights and questions about the development and progression of these diseases. It is difficult to anticipate, today, the type of useful information that can result from these stored samples, but it is essential that they be available for the investigation of new questions and insights that ultimately will benefit the patients.
