Additional Study Information: Genes and Environment in MS (GEMS) is a longitudinal cohort study investigating how genetics and environment can lead to the onset of Multiple Sclerosis. We are recruiting first-degree relatives (siblings, parents, and children) of people who have been diagnosed with MS. This study involves the collection of biological specimen, including saliva and blood, as well as the completion of questionnaires regarding personal and family health history, diet, and other environmental exposures. The goal of this study is to use these data to develop and test an algorithm predicting risk of MS onset that will help with early detection of MS in the future. This is an unpaid study.
