Additional Study Information: We are looking for healthy people ages 18-70 to study inflammation of fat tissue. Participation includes: fasting over-night before the visit (12 hrs), a blood sample, a DXA test of body composition, an MRI test of body composition, a brief health history questionnaire, height, weight, blood pressure, pulse measurements, and a fat biopsy. For the fat biopsy, an area of skin next to your belly button will be numbed with lidocaine and then a biopsy catheter will be inserted just under your skin and fat will be withdrawn into a syringe. Participants will receive $50 compensation for the DXA and MRI study, $50 for the fat biopsy, and up to $40 to cover transportation.
