We are seeking adolescents with a history of depression ages 13-18. As a participant in our study, we would: (1) interview you and your child about current and past thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, (2) collect brain activity data with EEG (non-invasive) while your child plays some computer games and eye tracking information while they watch movies, and (3) collect data from your child's smartphone for 12 months through an app called the Effortless Assessment of Risk States (EARS; which would be installed during the initial study visit after you learned more about the study and provided permission). The initial visit would be in our lab at the New York State Psychiatric Institute at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. There also would be follow-up assessments at 6 and 12 months after the initial assessment. For participating in the study, your child may receive up to $519. Additionally, parents are compensated with $25. To be eligible for this study, your teen must have experienced depression in their life.
