Additional Study Information: The Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience (SCAN) Lab is currently running research studies to investigate social interactions. Our beliefs about those who are close to us are based on our previous interactions with them. This experiment examines exactly how interactions with close others lead to changes in our beliefs about their personality and our attitudes towards them. Participants are groups of five friends, who would complete a 1.5 hour virtual escape room game with the escape room company Puzzle Break. Before and after the escape room, participants would complete a battery of questionnaires, each taking approximately 30 minutes. Participants will earn $15 each for their participation (in addition to getting to participate in an escape room game at no cost normally $30/person). Participants must be at least 18 years old and speak fluent English. If interested in participating, please contact Ben Silver at bms2202@columbia.edu. The Principal Investigator of the lab is Dr. Kevin Ochsner, whose lab is located in the Department of Psychology in Schermerhorn Hall.
