Anorexia Nervosa is a serious illness and relapse rates are high. We have shown that behavioral routines get stuck/entrenched. Our newest research, Relapse Prevention and Changing Habits (REACH+) for Anorexia Nervosa, aims to help patients minimize unhelpful routines and develop more healthful recovery-oriented behavior. Participants will complete initial treatment on our inpatient eating disorders unit at the New York State Psychiatric Institute; this treatment is provided at no cost. Following weight restoration, interested participants will meet with clinicians via secured Telehealth platform for an outpatient study intervention for about 6 months to work on changing illness behaviors, maintaining healthy eating, and maintaining a healthy weight after leaving the hospital. This study aims to evaluate this new outpatient intervention. To be eligible for this study, participants must be 18-60 years old, have a diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa or, if not formally diagnosed, believe they may meet criteria. For more information and to see if you are eligible, call the Columbia Center for Eating Disorders at 646-774-8066.
