Additional Study Information: The purpose of this project is to develop a set of word finding or "naming" tests for Bilingual English-Spanish speakers, ages 16-85. The main tasks involve naming pictures of common objects (e.g. broom) or naming items when given a description (e.g. "what children ride to school in"). There are some other tasks as well such as single word reading, number repetition, and remembering some items. All tasks are paper and pencil, or question and answer; there are no medications or scans and nothing is physically invasive. Required participation is just 1 visit. It sometimes happens that we would like to schedule a follow-up visit if you are randomly selected for brief repeat testing of the naming tasks. (Some participants have only the one main visit, and others are randomly assigned one follow-up visit which occurs 3-4 weeks after the first session). The first visit is about 90 minutes long, and you will be compensated $50 for that visit. The second visit is only about 15 minutes long and you will be compensated $15 for that session. We can conduct these visits either at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, or by Zoom - whichever is more convenient for you. If you come to the Medical Center, we can reimburse reasonable travel or parking expenses up to $55.
