Additional Study Information: We are recruiting adults with bipolar disorder, and adults with no psychiatric disorder, ages 18-60 years. As a participant in our study, you will be asked to attend one remote or in-person visit and one to two in-person visits. The following procedures will occur: Visit 1 (1 - 2.5 hrs): Clinical interview for overall psychiatric history as well as current and past mood histories. Visit 2 (up to 4.5 hrs): Cognitive assessments (paper and pencil and computerized), self-report questionnaires, vital signs, blood draw. Visit 3 (up to 3 hrs): Only participants who will undergo an MRI scan will complete this visit. You may be asked to have a blood draw. You may be asked to complete additional behavioral assessments (e.g., brief self-report questionnaires, neurocognitive testing). Study visits and the blood draw will take place at Columbia University, and initial interviews will take place remotely through HIPAA-compliant video conferencing (e.g., Zoom). For participating in the study, you will receive up to $250. Reimbursement for transportation of up to $25 will be provided for each outpatient in-person visit. To be eligible for this study, you must currently be diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Healthy controls, with no history of psychiatric diagnosis, may also be eligible.
