HVTN 808: A nonrandomized phase 1 clinical trial to evaluate the safety and tolerability of DV700P-RNA and DV701B1.1-RNA immunization in combination with antiretroviral analytical treatment interruption (ATI) in people living with HIV for elicitation of V3-glycan antibodies

Additional Study Information: This is a Phase 1 trial testing two experimental vaccines for HIV called DV700P-RNA and DV701B1.1-RNA. This study is testing whether these vaccines are safe to use in people living with HIV and if they can be taken comfortably, as well as how the immune system responds to the vaccines. Both vaccines are made using messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) technology. mRNA is a piece of genetic code carried into your body by the vaccine as a message with instructions. Instead of showing your immune system actual pieces of HIV, the vaccine carries instructions that show some cells how to make small pieces that look like parts of HIV. You may be eligible for this study if you are aged 18-60, in overall good health, and living with HIV. You may not be eligible for this study if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have certain medical conditions. If you participate in this study, you will attend clinic visits for blood draws, STI (sexually transmitted infection) testing, ECGs (heart tests), experimental HIV vaccine injections, and the collection of blood and lymph node cells for research. You may also have an ultrasound of your arm. Your participation in the study will last about 19 or 21 months, depending on which study group you are assigned to. During part of the study, you will be asked to temporarily stop taking your HIV medication. The study team will explain this process in detail before you decide whether to join the study. You will be compensated for participating in this study, a minimum of $1,000, for completing all required study procedures.
