This study is testing whether giving an investigational drug called C1 esterase inhibitor (C1INH) directly into the donor kidney before transplant can improve kidney function one year after surgery. At the time of the deceaseddonor kidney transplant, participants will be randomly assigned to received a kidney that has been treated with either C1INH or a placebo (inactive saline solution). All recipients will continue to receive the standard antirejection medications used after transplant. The study will follow participants regularly for 1 year post-transplant, followed by limited visits up to 3 years post-transplant.
