Additional Study Information: The primary objective of the study is to evaluate safety and effectiveness of ELAD with respect to overall survival of subjects with a clinical diagnosis of alcohol-induced liver decompensation (ALID). Subjects will be randomly assigned to receive either standard of care treatment for ALID plus treatment with the ELAD system or standard of care treatment for ALID alone.
