Additional Study Information: This study is designed to understand aspects of brain function that result in some adolescents experiencing difficulties with depression and suicide. We are currently recruiting adolescents ages 13-17 who recently visited the emergency room for suicide-related concerns. To participate in our study, we would ask your child to: (a) complete a mental health interview (over Zoom), (b) complete a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan, (c), provide a saliva sample, and (c) collect data from their smartphone for 3 months through a research app, which would be setup during the initial study appointment after you learn more and provide permission. There also would be brief follow-up assessments that would be completed by Zoom at 1-, 2-, 3-, 6-, and 12- months after the initial interview. For participating in the study, your child may receive up to $784.
