Donor Iron Deficiency Study

Condition: Healthy Volunteers
Investigator: Eldad Hod, MD

One of the consequences of donating blood is iron deficiency. In this study, we will screen healthy frequent blood donors for iron deficiency. We will enroll iron deficient donors and randomize them to intravenous iron treatment or placebo in order to determine whether iron deficiency has any harmful effects on the blood supply and the donors themselves.
